Skorba was first concieved by singer Andy Busuttil in 2005, out of a desire to artistically represent the cultural heritage of his homeland Malta, starting with the ancient neolithic temples of Malta, some of the world's oldest known man made structures. Working with colleague John Robinson they started composing and the foundations for Skorba were set. Skorba's first performance was at the inaugural Peat's Ridge festival in 2005. With Bertie McMahon joining the group in early 2006, also In 2006 Skorba were nominated for the MusicOz best world music artist award for the song "Merhba"
Skorba's first album - Hagar Qim Temple of Devotion was released in 2007 and since then Skorba has performed at many of Australia's great music festivals and venues including:
